The LittleThings

The ceiling fans in the little house are in good condition.  Except, they were gold.  I'm not a fan of gold.  Gold with cream colored blades.  Very 80s.

The other side of the blades was a wood grain. there is hope!

Nothing a can of spray paint won't cure.  I picked a "hammered" brown to cover the gold.  Walt Kowalski was the painter and the hardware came out very nice.  The paint didn't cover 100%, a second coat would have, but the effect was very nice.

Much nicer than the gold.  Add a good cleaning, and presto, new fans.  I haven't rehung them yet, I'm waiting to paint the ceilings first.

Things I learned this week:

1. It always takes twice as long in the home improvement store as planned.
2. No project ever goes well with high winds and dark clouds approaching on the horizon.
3. Sometimes the hardest thing to say is nothing.
4. Knowing when to say nothing is just as important.
5. Getting a larger hammer usually solves the problem.  Good or bad.
