Chimney step 4

Ok, so the chimney has way more steps than I originally expected.  I'm still new at plaster, so it takes me much longer than when I did seams and screws.  It also takes longer because the plaster is not premixed like the joint compound.

Mixing and stirring add time. 

Working inside the closet doesn't help either.  First I have to position the ladder, then I have to maneuver the bucket.  Don't forget trowels and towels.  Then inevitably I drop something from the ladder.

But once I get rolling, it goes well. 

 
Don't forget this is the first rough coat.

 
I also worked on the other side of the chimney that's visible. 

Plaster and concrete might be my new favorite mediums.
