Cat fishing

The forsythia is almost ready to bloom. Mrs. Cardinal approves.

The guys went fishing on Saturday.  It's about tradition.  Walt Kowalski prepared his fishing rods Friday night.

Caught himself a few kitty cats.  Cat fishing.  Ha!

Look at the clutter.  I struggle with clutter daily.  That ledge is a dropping point for everything when we come in the front door.

While they were catching fishes, I was working on ceilings.  It was a good day.

His and Hers

We splurged. New measuring sticks. The old ones had kinks, wouldn't stay extended, or wouldn't retract. They were going to end up on the train tracks.

We immediately put them to use on the ceiling in the hallway.

Everything

The suspense is killing me.

Positives for today:

Sunshine. :) :)
Cookies.  Chocolate chip cookies.
Adding air time to my phone and getting bonus days and minutes.

Tape Tape Tape

Tape and scrape. Tape and scrape.  It's slow, but it's coming along.  More tape and scrape tonight.

Done!

The taxes are done.  They aren't tricky.  Confusing at times.  I like to do them as soon as we get our W-2 forms and then let them sit for a while.  They have to age.  Then I return and check my math and make certain there are no typos.  There usually is one.  I transposed a number or accidentally entered on an incorrect line.

Also done...Bedrooms Ceilings!

There are only two of us, but we needed three ladders.  Remember yesterday's acrobatics?

We still have the upstairs hall ceiling.

Seams and screws.  Today I plan to tape and mud all of the seams and screws.

That screw on the right needs set a little deeper.

Maybe paint this weekend.  :)

High Strength

High Strength has such a double meaning when it comes to drywall.  High strength for lasting walls.  High strength for the installer.  My right bicep, my drill arm, is going to be extra strong.

Walt Kowalski and I divided and conquered on Saturday.  He worked on installing insulation in the ceilings.

(This makes my face itchy just looking at the photos.)

I worked on mudding the seams and corners.

I think the corner seam tape looks like white chocolate shavings.

I compare putting the spackling on the walls and seams to icing a cake.  You've got to fill in all the little gaps, then get it as smooth as possible.  Thin multiple layers is the best method.

It's coming along.  Walt Kowalski used the purple board above the doors is for no particular reason other than using up scraps.

Somewhere...

Where trouble melts like lemon drops
High above the chimney tops

That's where you'll find me

Storms tonight.  Clouds.  Rain.  Sun.  Clouds. Rain. Sun.
Then...

Ever so slightly...

Then...

Wow. Just a hint, a double.

There is just something about a rainbow.

It's unexpected, but predictable.  It's spontaneous, yet scientific.

What's so amazing
That keeps us stargazing
And what do we think we might see
All of us under its spell, we know that it's probably magic
Have you been half asleep?
And have you heard voices?
I've heard them calling my name
Is this the sweet sound
That called the young sailors?
The voice might be one and the same
I've heard it too many times to ignore it
It's something that I'm supposed to be
